Painted Birds were an indie-rock band based in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, that formed in
1986.
The band featured drummer Jeff Ashbrook, singer Matt Friedlander, guitarists Brad Morrison and Chris Uelen, and bassist John Petrovato. Keith Caruana replaced Petrovato on bass in late '87.
Painted Birds released the Green and Peaceful World EP in October 1987.
